Objective
  • Developing the competence in the practical application of the techniques and methods in electrical and electronic arena.
  • Equipping candidates for a challenging career in the field of electrical and electronic engineering.
Credit Hours

Minumum 160 credit hours (duration 4 years approximately)

Admission Requirement
SSC and HSC:
  • Combined GPA of 5.0 in S.S.C and H.S.C with minimum 2.5 in each or total GPA of 6.00* with minimum GPA of 2.00 either in S.S.C or in H.S.C.
GCE O level And A level:
  • Students completing five O-level subjects and at least two A-level subjects may apply. Out of these 7 subjects applicants must have minimum 4 ‘B’ grade & 3 ‘C’ grade. The applicants must have Physics and Mathematics both at O-level and A-level
Diploma Holder:
  • Students having minimum 2.5 GPA in Diploma from Electrical, Electronics, Power, Electro Medical, Mining & Mine Survey, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Automobile, Chemical, Telecommunication may apply for admission.
  • Before Diploma, Students of O-Level have to complete minimum five subjects and out of these 5 subjects applicants’ applicant must have minimum 3 ‘B’ grade & 2 ‘C’ grade.
Elective Courses

Students are required to choose sixc courses from each elective that is 22.5 credits must be completed from the elective courses.

Course Wavier

Course may be exempted for candidates beyond 12 years of education and they may complete the course in less than 4 years

Fees Wavier

10-100% fee wavier for meritorious but poor students. 50% fee wavier for females, Physically handicapped, Geographically backward and on the basis of admission tests.

Class Timing

Morning, Day and Evening. However evening classes are meant for service holders.

The University is a member or the Association of Common Wealth Universities (ACU), London, Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh and Quality Assurance and improvement council and appears in the worldwide listing of universities by the UNESCO. Moreover we have number of agreements with renowned Universities for exchange programs. The students thus, have wider scope of credit transfers and higher education abroad

Credit Transfers

Students can transfer credit to the World University of Bangladesh provided that they can submit evidence of previous credits completed at a recognized University of University College of Bangladesh. Moreover, students with HNC, HND and Diploma from the BTEB or any recognized examination bodies will be given necessary credit exemptions to enable them to finish their courses in a shorter period.

Medium of Instruction

The medium of instruction is English. Therefore, remedial courses are offered and continued till the students attain fluency in writing and speaking. Moreover students are groomed for IELTS.

Promotion and Graduation Policy
  • The minimum passing grade from 1st semester to 2nd is GPA 2.00, from 2nd to 3rd CGPA 2,25 and from 3rd semester it is CGPA 2.50 and there after.
  • The overall performance of a student is expressed in terms of GRADE POINT Average or CGPA.
  • A student having a CGPA 2.50 without any 'F' in any course shall normally be awarded a degree.
