Biography
Md. Khalil Islam holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) in Mathematics from Jahangirnagar University. His research focuses onย intersection of mathematical modelling, nonlinear dynamical systems, and mathematical biology. His research experience focuses on developing and analysing mathematical models of disease progression.
His current research interests are expanding toward quantitative and computational biology, particularly cancer dynamics, cellular heterogeneity, stochastic processes, and treatment response. He is interested in developing mechanistic models that explain how nonlinear interactions and biological variability influence disease progression and transitions between different states.
His long-term goal is to combine mathematical analysis, computational modelling, and experimental or clinical data to develop biologically meaningful and testable models. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary research that connects applied mathematics with modern biological and biomedical problems.
A dedicated educator, Md. Khalil is passionate about teaching mathematics through application, clarity, and insight. He believes in connecting abstract concepts to real-life phenomena, helping students see mathematics not just as formulas, but as a powerful tool for understanding complex systems.
He aims to contribute to both academic excellence and interdisciplinary research at the World University of Bangladesh, fostering a culture of analytical thinking, innovation, and student-centered learning.
