Assistant Professor

  • B.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Arizona State University, USA
Short Biography:

Mir Afzal Hossain is currently serving as a Sr. Lecturer in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at World University of Bangladesh. He has joined WUB on May 10, 2010. He has achieved B.Sc in Electrical Engineering degree from Arizona State University, Main Campus, Arizona, USA. His area of concentration is solid state electronics, including semiconductor device physics, semiconductor processing, analog and digital circuits design and VLSI design. He has a long and stable working experience in USA and Bangladesh. He has extensive coursework and research experience including CMOS processing with a large ‘hands-on’ experience in the clean room facilities at Arizona State University’s center for Solid State Electronics Research (CSSER). His research project, titled as “Fall 2000: Hybrid Molecular MOS Transistor” was awarded along with other two research partners Paul Jaconelli and Ephrem Gebreselasie under the supervision of Trevor J. Thornton, Ph.D. Professor of Electrical Engineering, Arizona State University. For more information: http://www.eas.asu.edu/~thornton/Teaching/eee490/ or http://slideplayer.com/slide/9766995/. The research project was done at Arizona State University NanoFab. It is a billion-dollar high-tech nano-processing facility that offers state-of-the art device processing and characterization tools for university research and for external company prototype development.
